The Food Roulette suggests a dish when you want to narrow your options. The cooking vs. takeout calculator compares the cost of meals using your own receipts, portions and time. Both are free to use without creating an account.
How the Tools Work
The roulette makes a random selection from the options you leave enabled. It does not evaluate a restaurant, a recipe, your medical needs or ingredient cross-contact. Excluding a dish is a preference setting, not an allergy check.
The meal-cost calculator performs arithmetic on the numbers you enter. It shows its formulas and labels its initial values as an example. It does not fetch supermarket prices or claim that one price applies everywhere. Your calculator inputs stay in the page and are not sent to us.

Editorial Standards and Corrections
Correction, September 7, 2026: an earlier version of this page said that the food guides used no AI-generated text and that every dish had been personally tried. Those statements were inaccurate and have been removed. The previous personal biography and claims of kitchen testing were not supported by records available to this site.
Older articles are being reviewed. First-person stories in those articles should not be treated as verified test reports. Where a page is rewritten, its correction note explains the material change. The cooking vs. takeout page, for example, now uses a reproducible calculation instead of an unsupported 30-day diary.
- Experience: we will describe a hands-on test only when a record supports who did it, what they did and what happened.
- Numbers: illustrations must be labeled. Published prices need a place and date; your own receipt is the relevant input for your budget.
